A birthday present for my mum, I think I spent about 20 hours colouring the hair alone - I've been pretty unhappy with the inconsistency of my art work lately and tried to put a bit more effort into this one. Gah! So glad it's finally finished, it's not quite what I was hoping for but in saying that it could have turned out a lot worse. I think I've fallen in love with coloured pencils. Although I seem to have a shortage of flesh coloured pencils which was annoying. Also the colours in this are A LOT brighter than how it scanned, which is sad since you can't tell here. This piece was largely inspired by the work of whose work is absolutely gorgeous, definitely worth having a look at her gallery.
this is just divine...i can see the influence from *DaddiesGurl, but you definitely put your own flair to it; the anatomy is gorgeous and it's obvious a lot of time and love went into this.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
